Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password.
  • Professional profile: skills, experience, salary preferences, target positions, and location.
  • Resume content: uploaded resume text used for AI matching and cover letter generation.
  • Application data: job application status, notes, and pipeline tracking information.
  • Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interactions with the dashboard.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system.
  • Log data: request timestamps, API endpoints accessed, and error logs for debugging and performance monitoring.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Evaluate job postings against your profile using AI (Claude by Anthropic).
  • Generate personalized content such as cover letters, screening answers, and resume recommendations.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, billing receipts, job alerts).
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve performance and user experience.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in PostgreSQL databases with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure strict tenant isolation -- your data is only accessible to your account.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • TLS/HTTPS for all data in transit.
  • Encrypted database storage.
  • Hashed passwords (never stored in plain text).
  • API key authentication and rate limiting to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Regular security monitoring and log analysis.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI) -- Used for job evaluations, cover letter generation, and screening question answers. Job descriptions and your profile data are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data for training purposes.
  • Stripe -- Used for payment processing. Stripe handles all credit card information directly and is PCI DSS compliant.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with the services listed above as necessary to operate the platform.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible for 30 days in case you reactivate. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted from our systems.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 14 business days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access -- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction -- Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion -- Request that we delete your personal data.
  • Portability -- Request your data in a machine-readable format (JSON export is available through the dashboard).
  • Objection -- Object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

8. Cookies

ApplyScope uses minimal cookies and local storage:

  • Authentication token -- Stored in localStorage to keep you signed in.
  • Session preferences -- Dashboard settings such as filters and view preferences.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies that track you across other websites.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was most recently revised.
